Bless this mess!
My New Years Goal was to get the garage/my studio area cleaned up, once and for all. I am beginning a HUGE kitchen cabinet makeover on Tuesday and needed to clear the decks before I began. Growing up, we had friends that were a family of very, very intelligent, creative people. The only problem? Their house was a HUGE MESS! There was a sign that hung over the kitchen desk, I love it and have never forgotten it. “A Messy Desk is a sign of Genius”. I agree with this to some extent. There was a hilarious segment on CBS News once about the desks of some of top reporters and journalists. Every one of those offices were fire hazards. I, however am I fairly neat person. I do create “piles” of my things, but my house is for the most part, clean and tidy at any given time. My workspace however, well, let’s just say it gets ahead of me from time to time. I do believe in the Feng Shui principle that “energy” can get clogged up if you have piles of messes around. I don’t know about my “energy” getting clogged, but a visual mess can be depleting when you are trying to “create”. I blocked out my morning, powered through it, and for the most part created order out of chaos. It is far from perfect, but then I do have to still make a mess in this space. What do you think?
It looks great Karen! I'm the same, I can't think when the mess gets too big. It is hard to keep it clean though when there are so many things I'd rather do! Good luck with your big project. Hey, and thanks for bringing Lexi home from dance. I appreciate it.
