I have three kids, one husband, one dog, one big church job, one big house, zero maid, and one part time business. Why can I not get my house decorated the way I want it? Have you ever heard the saying the “The cobbler’s children have no shoes?” Well, that is the story here, sort of. My house does have my stamp on it in every corner, but it is the laboratory of my mind. I am constantly shifting, rearranging, repainting, and reupholstering. This leads to decorating ADD. Do you have this? Start decorating in one room, only to get distracted by the siren song of another room that suddenly needs new window treatments, paint, furniture, hand made artwork, etc? My goal this summer? Finish one room, completely, top to bottom, before going on to the next area. Each room in my home will never be “finished” in the traditional sense. I love to change things with the season, keep things fresh. But my rooms need me to follow through with them. So this is it. We are starting in the Living Room. Here is what we used to have:
Not bad, but not much either . Chair was from Salvation Army, I reupohlstered it, made the ottoman from scratch, painted the chest of drawers that were from a friend, but none of it really goes together. We lived this way for a long, long time.
Here is what we have now:
CLOTHING, HOME DECOR, DIY PAINT, IOD TRANSFERS, & MORE . . .
