A piano is a piece of furniture, just like your dining set from Grandma, that you redid and looks fantastic. Why can’t your piano give you the same joy in looks that it gives you in sound?Â
With care, you can easily paint most upright pianos. Tape off the keys, open the top and place contractor’s paper over the strings and hammers. Tape off any parts that will not show, but are crucial to the instruments sound.Â
Here are some details I added:Â Faux Brass knobby things were changed out for lovely Chrystal Knobs.
A ladylike bench pad was added (truth be told, I did this a while ago, it just took some time for current owner to be “comfortable” with having it painted). Â A little ruffle, a little Gingham, just right for the young lady that will be playing this beautiful instrument.
Paint as you would any other piece of furniture.Â
Voila, you have a new heirloom that is now playing just the right notes.Â
