Sacre Blu, Or should I say, “Black”. I couldn’t find the before picture of this lovely dresser I did for my client. “quand même”, C’est la Vie!
My client’s daughter has had this dresser for some time.  It is actually what I call a “Hybrid” dresser. The drawers are original from a dresser, and old. The posts are wood, the sides are wood, but the mouldings and tops are composite, made to look like wood. So before you get uncomfortable here because I painted an antique….trust me, it isn’t the real deal.
The bedroom has a Hot Pink, Black and Bling theme, and the dresser was sticking out like someone needed to call the fashion police on it.
An evenly sprayed coat of Sherwin Williams “Tricorn Black”.  (my go to black).
A hand waxed finish.
Gorgeous glass knobs my client ordered…
All bring this hybrid brown lovely to an updated Sleek and Chic Black.
Le Moral of the story? Just because is has dove tail drawers and looks old, doesn’t mean you should be calling Antique’s Roadshow for an appraisal before you paint it. Just my opinion.
Or in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s words: “The counterfeit and counterpart of Nature is reproduced in art”.  Get it?
WOW! la madamoiselle is one sexy gal deserving of that name!!!! gorgeous!
