And Now For Something Completely Different/heading south of the border

Furniture and Cabinetry Redouxs, Furniture Makeovers

I am a huge Monty Python fan, and once in a while, I will try to throw a quote in…..

Also, instead of speaking Franglais today, I am speaking Spanglish.  I can hear the collective eye rolling, but bear with me, you won’t need a translator to keep up.

What I am sharing today is completely different from my normal “look”.  I have a client whose home is decorated in beautiful rustic Spanish Style.  The home has rustic furniture all throughout that is a nod to her Mexican heritage.  She and her husband had a lot of this lovely, but plain Pine furniture.  They were wanting to inject some color into the furniture, so they let me “have at it”.

We decided on a Red/Orange color hue, which picks up some of thevibrant Mexican art work they have.   I decided to leave the seats of the chairs and top of the table stained.  There were three cute stools to go with the set.

Here is the whole enchilada before, or should I say burrito, maybe a Super Burrito because there was a lot of furniture to do…….(yes, I do love my neighborhood Taqueria)

Emma and I did mucho, mucho, mucho sanding to get everything súper smooth! Muchas Gracias mi amiga!

I painted the base of the chairs and table, and the entire stool with a SW red, and then gave it an old look with my mix of glaze made from Modern Masters Tobacco Brown Colorant and Glaze medium.  (You can order these products HERE if you are interested, email Annette Sheppard from this site)

Aquí están los “Stools”

Here is one of the chairs magnífico

And here is the whole Combo Plate, complete with Spanish Rice and beans.  Extra Guacomole please!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my Spanish side.  It doesn’t show up too often, unless it is on a plate.

Adiós y

I’m barley more than a stone’s throw from both old and New Mexico, so we see lots of gorgeous Spanish and Southwest-themed stuff here. You nailed the color perfectly!

But… Those pieces are crying for some small metal embellishment to take them to 11 tho. Some kind of distressed silver sunburst in the middle of the chair backs or maybe some conches on the upper table legs would really lock in the Spanish theme.

Makes me wanna whip up a pitcher of margaritas!

Hope you Mark, and the kids are well 😉
