Are you seeing double? No, it is not your eyes, it is MOI, catching up on all the fabulous features I missed sharing last week, and as promised, I am doing a double feature party today, so hold on to your paint brushes, hammers, glue guns and all your other tools because there is so much to see today!!!
First up, Honey Bee Stool transformation from Lake Girl Paints. Wow, you have to see the BEFORE to appreciate the AFTER! So cute! She even has a great tutorial on how to do a stool just like it!
You know how much I love a trash to treasure makeover, but I really love an industrial makeover!! This chair gets a completely new life from Lauren at West Furniture Revival.
You must check out Lauren’s post to see the before, it was Uhhhhggggglyyyy!
This next piece is an absolute stunner, in fact, as soon as I finish writing this post, I am hunting through my stash to see where I can try this technique. This amazing dresser is from Leone Design, where absolutely everything created there is perfection. She took this dresser, painted in white in a home made chalkpaint recipe, then went over it very lightly with a glaze that was tainted with black, now that is bold!
I STILL have not tried “Rub and Buff”. Hooked on Decorating
shows exactly how to use it, and even shows how to give brass, yes BRASS an aged patina, the finished result is gorgeous!
This next feature is so fun. From Thrifty Inspirations, she shares with us an entirely new product line that Rustoleum is producing. She took an old Thrift Store Buffet and gave it a completely new modern look. She shares a complete tutorial and tons of tips too, so be sure to check this out. The color is so vibrant, LOVE it!
Now we are stepping out of the bottle, (get it? Instead of the box?) I love this from My Heart’s Song. She shares clever tips for taking ordinary jars we all have around, and making them look old, with a beautiful vintage look. Love.
This next feature, believe it or not, was found by Town and Prairie’s husband on the street!!!!! If I found this on the street, I would have definitely fought off anyone else who was trying to lay claim to it. It definitely needed a lot of work, but the end result was well worth all the effort!
If it seems like there is a lot of white going on here today, then you would be correct! I don’t know why, maybe it has been the craziness of my schedule these last few weeks that white was calming to me! However, usually I am all about COLOR, white is definitely not my first choice, and Emily, from Emily’s Upcycled Furniture definitely agrees. However, she knows that white does sell, but these chairs are not your typical white chairs, they have this unexpected burlap backed top, and the way she photographed them, they look so, not white!
And to wrap up this double feature, in honor of the Olympics, and all things amazing that come from that tiny Island we call England, I have to share this Rolling Stones artwork from Lizzi’s Creations.
Suffering husband will be so pleased, he has already asked me to make one for him….., and he ain’t to proud to beg, but Love is Strong, and really when the whip comes down, I just Hang Fire (hee hee). And now, since it’s only Rock and Roll and I like it, I will wrap up this party!
