Welcome to another edition of Trashy Tuesday, where we talk trash….literally!
I have some exciting news to share with you!! My FABULOUS Graphic Designer gal, Aimee at By Aimee & Co. has designed the coolest dumpster diving button. I will be linking it to my Dumpster Diving Posts. If you are in need of a WordPress switch, some blog updating, or any other fun thing you might want to add to your blog, By Aimee is the place to go. Aimee actually TALKS to you on the phone to find out exactly what you are looking for, instead of doing everything via email. I can’t say enough good things about Aimee. Go check out her website HERE!
If you want to check out Aimee’s blog, she has fantastic small business tips, WordPress advice, and all kinds of social media tips and hints. She is a wonder.
Now back to my trash…..I did mention last week that I was back on the dive again. However, I am not nearly as thorough as I once was. I am trying to take a more PRUDENT approach and not let my side yard take over my yard again. It is getting smaller, although suffering husband would argue that this is only because some of the things have moved to the garage. The truth is somewhere in the middle……
Anywho, a week or so ago, I was dropping Travis off at an activity on the other side of town, an area where I gave up dumpster diving. It is an industrial area and rarely yielded anything worth salvaging. This particular day I was so wrong! What in the world is this funky looking lamp doing in a big Industrial Area’s dumpster? It works too! All it needs is a new lampshade and bit of a change of color. I love the handles and details of it.
And, when out dumpster diving, don’t forget that ditches are a good place to look too! Remember this Green upholstered chair?
Travis needed some work and some cash, I needed a good staple puller. He is already about halfway through it, and I can skip the nasty job of pulling out all those staples! Good thing he works for cheap.
I am off to finish working on my latest trash project, it is almost ready for it’s debut! Hope you score some good “junque” this week. If you do, I would love to hear about it!
back on the dive again…I have been off about a week and am starting to get the serious ITCH! I am twisting my head side to side as I drive down the road looking for a score..LOL!
Can’t wait to see what you do with that lamp!
Hugs,
Karin
Hey there!
Great news! I am part of the PFM family now! Wahoo! I’m gonna start in February and would LOVE to dumpster dive with you some time! If you are ever wanting to explore the south bay…let me know!!

Love the lamp, love, love, love!!!! I ‘collect’ old lamps too…I have about a dozen just wating for me to do something with them however they’re actually all in good shape and need nothing but new wiring and a shade. Saving for my basement…..when I get around to robbing the bank that will fund the remodel!
Are you saying we won’t find so many goodies dumpster-diving your side yard anymore–??
Booooo ; D

Ah yes, LOVE Aimee! She’s the best in the biz, in my opinion!

That lamp is totally adorable! Good job nabbing that!
That is a great lamp. Don’t you just love FREE??? Amazing that you found it where you did, guess it was meant to be! Can’t wait to see what you do with it.
I did my first “side of the road pickup today” and I can see how it could become a habit! I scored an antique bed!
ohh! love that lamp. great find. I don’t think out area has magic dumpsters like yours. 😉 but my mom did find a huge old framed mirror leaning up against the dumpster at my sister’s new condo!! maybe there is hope yet!
Karen,
I didn’t know ditches were good places to find booty – I thought they were places people put the bodies!
