Link Party #85, Mes Préférés! Nouvel An heureux

Uncategorized

Happy New Year!!!  Our holidays our just wrapping up as we have two days of vacation left.  I have Paris Flea Market this weekend, so my holidays are just about over!  Brand new year, brand new projects.  I am sharing two weeks of parties today for a super-duper feature.

Hope everyone has great plans and expectations for 2013.  I sort of……have some New Years resolutions on my mind, but haven’t written anything down, therefore making it concrete.  Will be doing soon!  In the meantime, here are some of the best projects I saw over the past few weeks.

My first feature starts the New Year off on the best of the spirit of Redoux.  Freddy and Petunia is the Master of altering furniture.  This cabinet has been trimmed at the top with Moulding made for a picture frame!  And the bottom?  Well, that was the bottom of a chair of course!  How does she do this?  Check out this fabulous blog to see all of her masterpieces.

In 2013, I am finding myself drawn to calmer colors.  I will always love my bright pieces of furniture, and have a bunch in store, but I do love to see calm colors, especially on this gorgeous buffet from Meg and Mum’s.

I am loving all the “Best of” posts going around, and I love this dresser that was done by Karin from Art is Beauty earlier this year.  Karin is a true artist, and it shows in this rescued dresser, she “drew on” those gorgeous flowers too!

I love this next project, such a great example of how paint can transform something masculine and stodgy to a beautiful, feminine desk.  Desk Painted by Pam Lawrence, shown at A Painted Past.  This blog is a wonderful landing spot for projects done with CeCe Caldwell’s paints, especially if you don’t have a blog of your own!

I have shown this before, when my BFFBF, Shelly Andrade of A Little Bit o’ Shizzle guest posted, but I had to show it again as a “Best of 2013”.  She routed this top herself!  The paint on this piece is to die for, and the overall finished piece looks like it belongs in a very expensive French Antique Boutique!

You know how I said I was going to finish my Master Bedroom last year?  Well…….I am still working on it.  In the meantime, I LOVE this gorgeous Master Bedroom from the talented gal at The Velvet Door.  You have to see the post to see all the gorgeous details, and her gorgeous Master Bath that accompanies this beautiful room.

Now for Le Rules!

The mirror over the headboard is so high it serves no purpose and looks rather ridiculous hanging there. I do like the rest of it!

I like all the pictures except the bedroom with the large mirror over the headboard. It is much too high on the wall to serve any purpose – it actually looks ridiculous.
