Quick Update, the road is long, but the journey well worth the effort

Furniture and Cabinetry Redouxs, Good Time Charlie

Yep, that about sums up my office overhaul.  It is taking ……………..a……………….long………………………time……………………to……………..get

………………….everything……………….together……………………and…………….sorted………………out.

I did however make it to Ikea to pick up my new desk and a few other goodies.  When I got home, I had the best present in the mail waiting for me.  I ordered a pillow from Jill Flory at Sew a Fine Seam.  Nothing is put together yet,  so I will show that when it is all fluffed and gorgeous.  In the meantime.  This is where I was and this is where I am now:

Notice the lovely stains on the carpet, it is gone, and the concrete was sealed for the new floor.  Do I have to say more?

The Hugantic desk I bought for pennies from a guy who was a painter, and he used it! It sort of took over the room.

I boxed up, bagged up, and gave away about 1/4 of the things in there.

This is where I am now, couch moved under the window and has a lovely drop cloth draped over it until I can afford real slip covers or real upholstery work, or I do it myself, (which is like not for a long time)

This is where my new desk will go……..

And I created a “privacy” curtain and entrance from an old door I had.  This way, at least I can pretend I am working, and maybe it will slow my kids down from immediately interrupting my train of thought.  Should I extend that curtain so it goes the length of the room and put a lock on the other side?

I hope I will have some more to share next week!  Happy weekend,

Don’t bother with a lock, they will still find a way in, and if they don’t they will make enough noise to distract you anyway.

It’s coming along! I so wish I could just fly out there and make that slipcover for you. I could have that think done in a day. And get away to somewhere warmer than it is here I bet!
