Welcome to another edition of Trashy Tuesday! Sometimes you have to work a little bit for your junque. Sometimes junk just finds you! (Yes, there is a BIG difference between “Trash”, “Junk” and “Junque”). I will try to explain next week 😉
Last week I was at Paris Flea Market for a little meeting and dropping some things off. I went to move my car from the front to the back. As I pulled out of the parking lot, literally…right across the street in an industrial type lot, there was a gorgeous pile of the most wonderful trash! Of course I detoured there first. The “Guy” working in the yard was very wary of my interest in their trash. When I explained what I wanted it for, he shrugged his shoulders and said “have at it”! Have at it I did. I pulled a lot of great wood from one of the dumpsters, it was literally sitting on top. Someone had taken an old headboard and dumped it there next to the trash, and best of all, I found another cart!!!
In honor of Valentines Day fast approaching, I thought I would illustrate my love for this pile of junk with hearts. Scrap wood, cart needs a new top, and head-board. Ah, Junk….you are “Mon amour”!
You know how I love things that roll.
In other trashy news. Do you ever wonder what to do with old drawer fronts, or all that scrap wood you find when you are junqueing? I found a great solution. I purchased two large trash cans from Home Depot, and the rolly things they sit on. I filled one with all drawer fronts and the other with scrap wood. Two weeks ago, Suffering Husband and I went away for a night and Mr. Red called to see if he and his friend could use some of the scrap wood. No problem. Upon return to home, I realized Mr. Red and friend had pushed the entire can of scrap wood about 1/2 mile to friend’s home. I was not pleased. Last week, Mr. Red had to make a return trip with the wood. Good thing boy power is a renewable energy source.
methinks he doth protesteth too much
In other junque news. I got THIS for FREE a couple of weeks ago from a curb dump! (It didn’t come with the wheels, I was so excited, I added them on before I took the before….)
Here is a sneak peek of what I did with it. Will be sharing the rest of my Frankenfurniture tomorrow and Thursday. (this piece has already sold before it made it to PFM)
And! As if that were not enough trash talk, here is a sneak peek of my dresser turned bookshelf I will be sharing on Thursday. This was a dumpster find as well. (This piece will be for sale at PFM this weekend, beginning Thursday night)
Until then, I hope your week is just full of trash.
What a great lot you found! The little peek from the dresser turned bookshelf looks very pretty I can’t wait to see the whole thing:) I’m so jelly (jealous) of all your junk:)
I need more Junk!! I can never have enough!! what? I don’t have a problem!
Can’t wait to see the frankenfurniture LOL!

Seriously – you have the best luck finding junque! I’m in love with that cart – I think I need to get out more! Have a great week!
Here’s to good trash! Cheers 🙂
Karen, I just love coming over to see all the great stuff you find! And what you do with it. Can’t wait to see more of that dresser 🙂
Can’t wait to see the reveal! Patti@OldThingsNew
I love things that roll too – we have issues! And of course, those hearts really sum up your feelings for trash. I think you need to buy it a box of chocolates and take it on a romantic dinner (the rest is up to you)!
