I hope you are having a fabulously Trashy week. Thanks for stopping by here to totally talk trash with me. No, NOT that kind of trash! We keep things positive around here. And I am positively excited about the trash I found this week. And!!!! A sneak peek of my new workspace. I will share the whole thing Thursday, you will be awed and amazed!
First up, another ironing board. You may be wondering why, but I will straighten this out for you. I love the idea of making a memo board out of an old ironing board, it comes with a cool frame, a great way to hang it, and a unique shape!
On a recent business park dumpster dive, I found all of these heavy duty parts to a desk. They were all pretty solid, and I can always use solid tops for many of my frankenfurniture creations. These are perfect.
While Emma and I completely cleaned and organized the garage, we took pictures of just about every single piece of furniture I have. When I get back from my trip, my next task will be creating a new furniture cue. I had done this last year and managed to get through most of it. Wish me luck, this part is hard. They all want to be the star of the next sale!
Impressive huh? There are few more headboards, doors and misc. items we didn’t quite get to yet. I can tell you that out of all of these photos, I probably only paid for three things. THREE THINGS!!! With a total of about $50. Everything else was either found in or around a dumpster, the side of the road, or was given to me. The only cost I had to collecting all these items was a about an 45 minutes per week and some gas. Truly, if you are wanting to cut back on the endless garage sales hunts, thrift store hunts, etc. You can pretty much find whatever it is you are looking for.

And….as promised, here is my sneak peek for my garage!!!! And by the way, my new work bench, the top on it, the shelves, etc. were all dumpster finds. All of it!
Yowza, just look at all that junque waiting for your magic touch! Great job on the garage — I need to get mine organized, too. 🙂

wow, your junk picture would make terrific wall paper. on the computer that is. Love it all. I have to get my beady little eye on every last piece. love it, love it, love it. Sharleen .
AWE- and SOME ! I see a few things in there that could be sold as-is in the little shabby shop where I work. Even when I drive the back roads I can’t find this stuff ! Although, yesterday on the way to a friend’s house there were two vintage metal garden chairs on the curb next to another house on her street. I pulled in quick! I called my friend and asked her if her neighbor would mind if I took the chairs, or maybe they weren’t for the trash. She assured me they were for the waste management engineers. So, into my truck they went! Later, when I was leaving my friend’s house, the lady-of-the-chairs was outside so I stopped to let her know I had taken the chairs. She was so thrilled she gave me two more! I wish I had your drive to paint all my stuff. I get so distracted.
Hey! Also wanted to ask you…. how are the plants doing ? did they stay alive through the winter there?

I absolutely love your blog! Your “diving adventures” are too funny. I live in the country and not too many places around here to dive! What do you do with all your finds? I know you redo them, but do you have a shop where you sell them? Thanks for the laughs you provide 😉

Woo-hoo! I see some bIg projects movin’ through there!

Don’t laugh…. we have the same rug in our garage. It was from my burgandy and forest green phase and when those colors left the rug made it as far as the garage. I think it was JC Penney, but don’t hold me to it.

Hey girl!
Wonderful job garage looks great! I have a question and I know without a doubt YOU are the one who would be able to help me.
I’ve just picked up the most graceful little table by a dumpster that has been VERY ABUSED….it looks as though some idiots actually put cigarettes out on her top….It doesn’t look horribly deep but may be deeper than a simple sanding. Any suggestions????
Thank you creative lady!

OMW LOL I just looked again at your post, and the table I speak of above is your table in the picture…the third from the right bottom.. Isn’t it a ‘pretty’ little thing?
