Luckily, I am not the last person to go picking through the trash or I would miss all the good stuff!  I think either I must have more competition, or pickings have been a little slim as of late.  Good thing, because I am slowwllllllyyyyyyyy making my way through my “stash”. For the next few posts, I am going to try to just share all my junque makeovers.  Let’s see how many I can do before I show you something I actually paid cash for! This ladder showed up in my pile via a church dumpster (not my church, but one close by).  I am sure they were perplexed when they saw that someone had taken this broken and very not safe piece of (junque) off their hands.  It most definitely would not fit in the dumpster.  This is the end result, not the beginning!

This is the condition I found it in.

Travis (my 11 year old helper aka Mr. Red) and I gave it a thorough cleaning.  Applied a thin coat of CeCe Caldwell’s Spring Hill Green.  Gave it  a serious sanding to burnish the paint and make the ladder supple soft.  Soft like it had never thought it would be.  (If a ladder had thoughts).  When we were finished, it was like someone had rubbed soft hand cream all over it, without the grease.  It was that soft!

The ladder looked a little sparse. I filled it with a bunch of cotton towels I was selling at Paris Flea Market.  I used the Citra Solv transfer method and all the lovely graphics from my favorite Graphics Fairy!

Do you remember the morning I saw this chair on the very top of a dumpster?  You don’t???  I sure do!  What in the heck was an almost perfectly good wicker chair doing on the top of a dumpster in an office complex on a Monday morning. Come to think of it, what was I doing there?  Well, I was working too (sort of).
Wicker Chair Before
Emma thoroughly cleaned it and scrubbed all the loose paint off.   I hit it with several coats of a gorgeous Apple Green Spray paint.

Both of these items, including my towels sold fast at the last Paris Flea Market sale.  Fast, like a really good Latin Jazz Guitar.  Back to Spotify. I am not sure about Ludacris and Bossa Nova?  The Black Eyed Peas and Sergio Mendes can pulled it off beautifully a few years ago.  Not so sure about Ludacris, skipping ahead on Spotify….

Great makeovers! Love the ladder. I have a cool old ladder I painted white this spring – but I had to pay cash for mine!

I have 2 of those Pier 1 wicker chairs!
They used to sit on my master patio deck under a perfectly umbrella-pruned tree by the lake! OMG! I just closed my eyes, I was transported right back there–in my nightgown, bathrobe, sunglasses and a hot cup of Kahlua-cafe!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane dolly!
