Happy Trashy Tuesday! Hope you are having a junque filled day.
I must confess something……I got into a fight. A really, REALLY TOUGH fight. It happened last week. I was on my way home from Zumba. Feeling REALLY AMPED up. I decided to take a cruise behind the Target/Old Navy Shopping Center. I don’t usually find much there worth noticing.
This particular day, I did notice something BIG. And I wanted to get in on the action. I slammed on my brakes. Looked around to make sure there was no one watching. Jumped out of my car and what I thought would be an easy score of a GIANT SOLID WOOD dresser turned out to be the fight of the year. In my fools folly, I thought I would just “plunk” the thing out of the dumpster, grab any drawers and be on my merry way.
It wouldn’ t budge. Not even an inch. Kind of like when I wanted in on this Dumpster in Truckee, Tahoe.
I realized I was going to have to do the deed. GO INTO the dumpster. Luckily, I was a sweaty mess already. What was one more stinky thing on me. Besides, it is not like this was my first time hopping in to grab something I wanted.
With all my might, mind and strength, I wedged one end of it up and over the edge of the Dumpster. Then I was able to, with very careful maneuvering, lower the thing to the ground. While I was in there, I noticed almost all of the drawers were there too! OH HAPPY DAY FOR MOI!!!
The last drawer had gone AWOL. I had to let it go. I could have dug a little, but I was getting nervous someone was going to drive by and see me in the dumpster. Then there would be too many questions to answer. I loaded the goods into my car and sped home.
I may have been a tad tired after my major fight, but it was worth the effort, the smell and the strain. Because at the end of it all. I WON!
PS Be sure to come back tomorrow! I am featuring some of the “Where are they now?” Stars of my Dumpster Finds!! Here is a sneak peek:
LOL! Getting that dresser out was a better workout than Zumba!
Ohhhh love that little dresser I can’t wait to see what you do with that chippy little thing. I will be back tomorrow to see the before’s and after’s. Can’t wait.

Some journeys are best made alone!
You are soooo funny girl!!!!!!
You slay me! I was already blown-away-impressed that you are able to work this magic with these rundown pieces of furniture, but now to hear that you are coordinated enough to do Zumba!!??!!?? I am so jealous!
Dumpsters do have a distinct aroma. So do the insides of the old fashioned Good Will bins. I know this from my childhood, my mother would of been shocked at where we played.

You are FEARLESS!! Love your guts and yes you won!!
Hahahaha! Good find, I had a dresser once that was in terrible shape, two drawers were goners – I ditched ’em and revamped the extra space to be shelving….. can’t wait to see what you do with it!
Tee hee! I’ve never actually dumpster dived. But, by gosh, you make it sound like a hoot! lol
