Before I begin, I want to express my love, prayers and good thoughts to all of those who were affected by the horrible bombing at the Boston Marathon yesterday. I am heart sick like all of you, I am sure. I can’t begin to imagine the trauma, grief, pain and sadness those who were affected by this terrorist attack are dealing with. I am praying that the terrorists who perpetrated this horrible event will be brought to justice swiftly.
I had considered not posting today, and it is up late. However, and act of terrorism is designed to interrupt our daily lives. In my own very small way, I am not letting this horrid act interrupt my life, so on with the trash we go!
Do you ever wonder what my typical work day looks like? Here is a good example of the dumpster part of my day:
Do you like a challenge? How about a puzzle! I found this on the side of the road last Saturday. Cheap dresser, missing drawers, yada yada. The previous owner had meticulously gathered all the spare parts and had stacked them neatly on top of the dresser. Let’s see if I can actually put it together again!
I picked up this super huge headboard (which I can’t wait to transform into something (s) uber fantastique) from a reader and customer of Paris Flea Market. Thank you!
You may be looking at this lunch box and thinking “GROSS”. I see lots of options for this little thing, none of which involve putting food in. At least not until it has been thoroughly disinfected!
I also picked up a good deal of scrap wood. ho hum. Some nice Redwood planks, and several 2×4’s that were relatively without nails!
I will be busy working on my junque this week!
I hope we are all able to clear our minds and get back to our lives today, and not forget those who are forever adversely affected by what happened yesterday.
amazing! great finds, cannot wait to see more…
Karen
Can’t wait to see what kinds of fantastic things you come up with for your new junque!
I am so curious what you are going to do with that cooler! Can you give us a hint?
When I saw the title of your article, I immediately thought “oh the garbage workers are on strike
in her city too”!! Haha…Our pickup people went on strike Monday but the GOOD NEWS…
people have left lots of good stuff on the tree lawn and no one took it, but me!!
