Happy Monday!  It was 106 Friday and Saturday in my part of the world.  I am amazed I didn’t melt completely.  Luckily, the heat didn’t stop anyone from shopping at Paris Flea Market.  Despite the heat, we had a wonderful turn out, things were hot, hot, hot there, and I am not just talking the temperature!

I recently acquired this old Dental Cart from a friend from Paris Flea. This isn’t your run of the mill furniture makeover!  This little piece served for many years, helping a dentist improve people’s smiles.

For a cart this fun, I decided it needed a sunny-smiley color.  I wanted to play up its industrial vibe as well.  I painted the body of the piece in CeCe Caldwell’s Carolina Sun Yellow.

The back is perfect for entertaining too, it even has a little place to hang a towel, utensils, etc.  Whomever designed this cart, just thought of everything!

The legs and the top are painted in Seattle Mist, with Modern Masters Silver metallic paint, (just a thin coat).  I sealed the entire piece with CeCe Caldwell’s new product, “Endurance”.  The easiest brush on top coat I have used.  No smell, no mess to clean up.  This new product is designed for hard wearing surfaces, and pieces that will go outside.

I also added some fun little contact paper inside the drawer.  The hardware was the original, just an hour soak in a warm crock pot filled with just water made that paint bubble right off.  The BEST trick for removing all paint from hardware.

I imagined my little cart might be entertaining this summer at a fabulous BBQ party and it needed to hold up to all the party usage!

Now there is a reason to make you smile on Monday!

My little cart is running around at these parties this week:

Always something new from CeCe. Endurance……sounds just perfect for the old metal kitchen table on wheels that’s been sitting on my back porch forever.
Your choice of color is inspiring. Yellow is likely to be my new turquoise!
As usual, you come through again! Well done.

Karen, your cart is adorable! Looking forward to trying the Endurance. I just received a shipment from the CeCe Caldwell’s Warehouse Friday but the Endurance wasn’t ready to ship yet when I placed my order. Hopefully it will be available for us soon.
