Happy Monday! I have one kid just home from camp and another just left. It is like a rotating door around here, with Mark and I heading to Las Vegas Thursday for a conference. Class for him, freedom for moi!
Before I give updates on the ongoing stairs issues… A round up of my favorite dressers! One of my favorites, my French Maid Dresser:
We are still neck deep in the floor/stairs project. I have every other stair primed, will be working on the rest, and the upstairs. Here is a progress picture. Just know, the satisfaction of doing a major DIY at your home is immense, but the pain in the rear end factor is too!
I did complete one Pottery Barn inspired Dresser for a client this week, but we are waiting on hardware, and it isn’t ready for its close up.
This one is Called “Hemmingway”. I had just finished the book, “Hemmingway in Paris” and was feeling very Hemmingwayish, in a good way. I wasn’t looking to drink excessively, or start a fist fight. Just creatively inspired. No running with Bulls though.
This project still remains one of my all time favorites. The French Maid. I scored a big lot of this 70’s French Provencial style furniture. This piece, with the trim in the center, just looked like a French Maid. She sold fast. Hope she is doing well with her new post.
Oh these girls! This post was Mixology. The two snooty French Girls. I love the finish I created, they were gone in a flash too. Thanks for nothing girls!
This dresser was missing it’s top drawers. I made a new “box” for the interior and it went to live with one of my favorite long time clients. Travis (aka Mr. Red’s) Kindergarten teacher. It was my favorite, Dresser Turned Bookshelf. And last but certainly not least……My Countrified Broyhill, Free to Me dresser turned Industrial Chic. This dresser was like a shot heard round the world. It even made it to the esteemed graces of Apartment Therapy. It was well received on the most part, but when AT’s readers are going to critique you, they come at you with finely sharpened Design Skills and they don’t mince words!
My Dressers are strutting their stuff this week at these fine parties:
Wow! All the dressers are great!
Love all the dressers!
Fantastic job! Love your creativity!
Wow. love em all!! So nice to see them on one page, don’t you think?
They are all so great! I still love that last one SO SO much! And I want to create something similar sometime. I can’t imagine anyone saying anything against that piece!!
Love each of them. I’m not up to snuff with fancy finishes yet…still trying to figure out the waxing! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
LOVE them all! You are crazy talented my friend! 🙂
