Happy Thursday! We are almost through the first week of summer. Our summer break is short here and we are trying to make the most of each day. With plenty of relaxing in between! I have a DIY list around my house as long as I am tall (very long). Next week, #1 project? Removing carpet from our upstairs hall and painting the sub floors. Yes, pulling carpet, pulling staples, filling holes and sanding. Don’t you want to come over next week and hang out with us?
Enough about my DIY, let’s talk about your DIY, and TALENT!
I love fresh ideas, this “wreath” from Upcycled Treasures is fresh from the Ocean. Well, sort of. But what a cute idea for a summer door welcome! She has a wonderful tutorial on how to get this look at her post too, be sure to check it out!
You know how much I love wood planks on any kind of furniture. I love it even more if it is an upcycle. The gal at Shabby Chic Farmhouse came out one morning after a windstorm to find her glass patio table without the glass! Instead of chucking the table, they improved it with wood planks! Even cut a hole for the umbrella to go through. I LOVE it! I have a patio table missing the glass, I know what to do now!
If you have been here long enough, then you know I have “thing”, a “THING” for chalkboards. I have them all over my home. My husband put a moratorium on them at one point. I have been good for a while….but I just saw this from The Turquoise Home. How to make a giant MAGNETIC chalkboard. I am not sure I have any other wall real estate for this, but a girl can dream right?
Cluck Cluck? No, I think you are trying to say “COTCOTCODET” because this is a French Hen! I love this Pallet art from my friend Karin at Art is Beauty, who is just always coming up with one amazing creation (or creature) after another. This is leftover Pallet Wood too. So cute!
Be still my beating heart. This is how I felt when I saw this gorgeous French Style Dresser from Fiona at Lilyfield Life. The color is perfect, I love the white detail, and I love the shading she uses with Dark Wax. Fiona says she was going to sell it at first, then fell in love with it, now isn’t sure. Fiona, now you will have a million offers for it! I would keep it too, it is perfect.
Do you dance on your tables? What? You should. All you need is Pneumatic Addict to come over and make your tables bigger, raise them a little taller, and reinforce them so they can hold several dancing friends at once. Seriously. She did all this, making what she calls the “World’s Largest Coffee Table”, at 4’x5′. I would have to agree! Check out the before to believe the after. This girl did this all HERSELF!
Sew it always comes back to moi doesn’t it? On that long DIY list is lovely curtains with black out lining for our master bedroom. There is not only lovely pictures, but an AMAZING tutorial too from Better with Age. Jamie even made some for her nursery with sheets! Waking up on Sunday at 5:00 a.m, only to put an eye mask on is not my idea of a good sleep. The directions are so perfect, I think I might even make these without getting into a war with my sewing machine. Conflict yes. All out war? Probably not.
