Link Party #109, Features, and a HUGE GIVEAWAY from Nine Red!

Happy almost weekend!  I am so thrilled to be hosting a give away with my friend Jesse from Nine Red.  Jesse was one of my first “bloggy” friends.  Way back when, Jesse was featured on Design Sponge online several times for his out of the box furniture and creativity.  Jesse’s talent and skills have continued to amaze me.  Today, Jesse is giving away one of his fabulous String Art  Pieces, CUSTOM MADE FOR A WINNER!   Be sure to enter as many times as you can, you never know, his art might be worth quite a bit one day and you will be owning an original of his work!  Besides that, they are just so COOL!  You can check out more of Jesse’s work at his Etsy Shop.

Now speaking of COOL and amazing, let’s check out the features from last week’s party!  This week, in honor of Jesse’s art, we are going BOLD!

You know I have STAIR WAY makeover on the brain?  We are in the middle of ours.  I so love this staircase makeover from Gwen at The Bold Adobe. She used Wallpaper for those pops of color and graphics.  How fun is that!  And, if you get tired of it, you can remove it and do something different.

Since we are thinking bold and out there, how about this Empire Dresser from Shades of Blue Interiors?  Not only did she do a ton of repair work, but the color is so fun, and so is the photo shoot!  Something that looks like old castle ruins. Now that is out of the box!

If you came to my home, you would see two things.  A lot of upcycled items, and YELLOW.  I do love the color Yellow.  I love this interpretation of Yellow too on this old Ice Box from Urban Den.  Makes the 70’s Harvest Gold look oh so good again!

I am no stranger to yukky furniture, as in yukky when you start.  These pieces from Make Me Pretty Again were not in the loveliest of condition, but she did such a fabulous update on some old classics.  Love the old Miami look of these pieces.

How about some coral for you?  I love this little petite table from Daisy Mae Belle, that girl is always coming up wit the cutest projects!

Now this is something you don’t read how to do in books…..(yukyuk).  Fish Tail Cottage decided to try her hand at those uber cool book bundles you see around.  She threw hers in the dryer to give them a steamed and rumpled look, then did a stain and water mix to age them. She was unsure of the outcome, but I say, I love it.

Have you tried using glue and a heat gun to add texture to your paint? You haven’t? You will want to after you read Rhonda from Shabby But Chic’s tutorial on how to get this look.  I love everything about it, from the dry brushed CeCe Caldwell’s Vintage White to the texture, and the flowers.  Be sure to check out the tutorial, I can’t wait to try this myself!

I see these chairs all the time, but I often pass them up because it never occurred to me to do something with them!  Not anymore, from Confessions of Serial  Do-It-Yourselfer, she has a fab tutorial on how to upholster an old office chair.  You won’t believe the before!
