Welcome to Trashy Tuesday! Guess what, I have been (mostly) avoiding Dumpster Diving. Why? Because if you saw my video last week, you know that I am becoming a borderline hoarder. I have put myself on a Dumpster Dive Diet. What I failed to realize is as soon as I decide to do something so drastic, things start showing up on sidewalks everywhere with “FREE” signs on them! Since I have avoided the Dumpsters, this post is short and to the point, so you can get on with your day….
It is like declaring to the world you are cutting out sugar for a while, then suddenly, you only want to eat Fried Food. (Or in my case, movie Popcorn, drenched in that oh so delicious Faux Butter).
Here is what I found, picked up this week.
Don’t you think this patio set will be fantastic once it is cleaned up and painted? The pads need recovering, but the chairs are comfy! Maybe I can find a Free Umbrella somewhere now too.
And….I did fall of the wagon just for a minute this morning and peeked outside one Dumpster. I found this sad little basket of Cactus! Some of the pots were kind of cool too, hopefully I can rehab all of it!
I have the biggest collection of upholstered chairs, waiting to be upholstered. I can’t stop myself! If they are in reasonably good condition, and don’t smell, (or have bugs), they come home with me. Maybe this summer I will actually do something with them!
That’s all folks!
that patio set will be amazing!!!! great find!
Can’t wait to see the transformations!
I’ve had to stop hunting and gathering too. Absolutely no room left. I hardly have room to paint! Love that patio table….would love to find one of those!
That fried foods sugar dieting thing happens to me every time. Maybe if I pretended I was giving up dumpster diving I could purge of sugar and fat too.
Bliss
Yep I bet that chair will look fab. 😀
When you see true trash around town (or other lighting, safety, graffiti, whatever issues), you can take a quick pic and use the Report It app to tell the city about it. I’ve gotten traffic lights fixed, roads restriped and labeled, roadside TVs picked up, etc. Those relabeled turn lanes by John Muir? That was me. 🙂 Good luck with the de-junkquing!
I share your pain. I too have had to curb my curb-side collecting. But my last great unresistable piece, a monster 9 drawer French Prov in really great shape. Sucker was HEAVY to load all by myself.
Love the chair! It has excellent bones and calls for a comfy fabric.
I don’t want to contribute to the problem, haha but I do love to see the treasures you bring home. I love all of your makeovers as well. I did like the video also. Great job as always 🙂
You are not a hoarder!! You fix it up and get rid of it right? Hoarders never realize that they are hoarders. Maybe just pace yourself.

We’re not hoarders, we are savvy business women! Haha! You should see the funky little rolling table I came across today. I told my husband that if my Redoux blog friend saw it should would immediately know what to do to make it over. I then proceeded to tell him what I thought you would do. Now that I think about it . . . maybe I’ll go back for it and do it myself. There is always room for one more piece of junque. Blessings to you, Patti
LOL can’t help but laf out loud…. I think I’m a borderline hoarder too. And I really want to turn some of my trash into treasures. I really love your blog and your unique sense of humor. It is such a pleasure. Glad I bookmarked you.
I’m glad we don’t live near each other. We would be enablers to each other. I already have two enabler friends. I need some who sound more like my kids and will tell me to stop! For some reason, I don’t listen to the kids because they don’t seem to see the brilliance of the process. My friends do, which is why they help me collect more. Luckily both of them take some of the stuff home to their storage areas with them!
