Link Party #114! And Le Fabulous Features

Uncategorized

Happy Thursday, and almost weekend!  Time to party and get your creativity on.  We are in the thick of back to school preparations.  Yes, I said Back To School!  We start the first week of August here.  We have what is called a “modified traditional” schedule.  Kids get out in early June, we have about an 8 week summer break.  Then we have a two week Fall Break, two week Holiday break and two week Spring break.  It actually works pretty well.  Where we live, October is still warm and pleasant, so vacations sometimes are really nice this time of year.  Plus, my kids are starting to get tired of me and all my momness.  We have had a fun packed summer, but we are all ready for some law and order.  (or maybe that is just me…..)

Enough about moi, let’s talk about you!

You know how much I love a good Redoux, but even better is a Frankenfurniture Redoux!!  What is Frankenfurniture?  When you take something that wasn’t necessarily meant to be the piece of furniture you made it into, like my Garage Door Couch.  From Full Circle Creations, she created a gorgeous Pedestal table from an old Antique leg that was given to her. The tutorial is so thorough, with detailed pics.  You will want to make one this weekend.  Gorgeous!

I love an old Chippy, distressed Bathroom cabinet.  This cabinet got the old treatment, but it also got some new  treatment.  Uniquely Yours or Mine and her husband added trim to the bottom of this cabinet to elevate it. Now it sits in her gorgeous bathroom holding all the luxuries you will need for a relaxing bath. That sounds like a really nice idea about now!

I love chalkboards.  I have a little chalkboard problem, my husband put a moratorium on anymore chalkboards in our home (I think the ban has lifted though).  This is a simple project, but great idea of how so many extra pieces you have around can be turned into a chalkboard.  From Artsy Va Va she not only made a simple but cute chalkboard, she added the adorable bunting to make a cute outdoor sign!

We must have Cabinet doors on the mind this week, here is another idea! From Creative Home Expressions, she took an inexpensive door she found at a thrift shop and made it into this sophisticated little sign.  Love the graphic, she used the Mod Podge Transfer method, I haven’t tried this one yet!

Maybe you all know how to add casters to old legs, but  this one has eluded me.  The kind that have the push in top, not the plate with screws. A whole new world has opened to me  thanks to Kim at Reposhture Studio.  Not only does she show how to add the casters to these gorgeous old legs, but she used a Chicken Coop to make the coolest Coffee Table.  Hello???? How fab is this.  Kim, you can come over anytime and make one for my living room.  Free room and board and my children can entertain you!  LOVE!

And to wrap up this fun party, I am ending with Patti from Old Thing’s New photo diary of the gorgeous French Flea Market she visited.  I would love to attend something like this.  There were things in every picture I wanted, and would love to try my hand at. Like these door knobs turned into Picture holders.  So fun!

Merci to everyone who shared!  I tried to get to as many posts as I could, and I am so grateful you come back each week to share your talent with me.  You are so inspiring!

What a fun party. I will have to get busy and do something worth sharing. Love the coffee table with the chicken coop. Believe it or not I remember seeing trucks loaded with those things, with live chickens, parked on the streets in Atlanta. You could choose your chicken and purchase it on the spot. I was a child but it stuck in my memory.
