It’s summer. I like to Dumpster Dive. I also enjoy relaxing outdoors. I need something to sit on while I relax outdoors. I don’t want to spend a lot of money.
What to d? Check my city for free patio furniture. Found this chair a few weeks ago, shared that in THIS post.
I also found this Patio chair in the same place I found the other wicker chair a few months ago. I found both of them in an office complex dumpster.
I don’t know where you go shopping for outdoor furniture. Office complex dumpsters are the place to hit for the deals.
The pad on my free to me chair was not so lovely looking, and the frame needed a spiffing up.
I removed the pads, and sprayed the chair in nice rich, brown Spray Paint.
And….I sprayed out the pads too! Have you tried Fabric Spray Paint? Yep, FABRIC SPRAY PAINT. It is like fabric dye, in a spray can. I have tried it a few times now, with mostly good results. I had two cans of red left, it was just enough to fully cover almost all sides of the cushion. Good thing you can use CeCe Caldwell’s paints on fabric too. The fabric is an outdoor nylon type fabric. Traverse City Cherry happened to be the exact same shade of red that the Fabric Spray paint was. I simply painted the bottoms of the cushion in my CeCe Caldwell’s, and then sealed with a little bit of their newest product. Endurance. It is a low VOC, polyurethane, non-yellowing, and made to stand up to harsh conditions. 
I really love the way my chair looked when I was finished. So much that I realized it wouldn’t be fair to keep it to myself. I took it to Paris Flea Market.
It went home with someone else today.
Time to shop a dumpster again for some more patio furniture.

I have been looking for patio chairs like this on CL forever now!?! Apparently I am shopping in the wrong place! lol! Dumpsters…here I come! 😉
Do you think people in your area who know what you do, and who know your blog, ever regret throwing away so much good stuff? They should hire you to give it new life instead. Or you could hire yourself out to redecorate rooms entirely with dumpster treasures.
Awesome makeover! I’ve never seen stuff that good in dumpsters around here! Didn’t know about the fabric spray paint – will look for that when my RED cushions fade!

Love these ideas. I am thinking that this paint might be a good way for me to spruce up my entry way mat. What do you think? It is that rubbery stuff….I want to paint it but didn’t know the right kind of paint to use. HMMMM!
