Buffet Day
I love a good Buffet. Especially a really good breakfast buffet. The kind that has made to order Omelets and endless stacks of bacon. This is the kind of buffet I get only when on vacation. Usually Las Vegas, home of the biggest breakfast buffets I have ever seen. Las Vegas probably is the home of the biggest furniture buffet assortment too.
The kind of buffet I am sharing today is not the bottomless plate, eat until you are exploding, maybe they actually lost money when I came in kind of buffet (maybe that is just Mark and I, gluttons at a good breakfast buffet, my once a year bacon splurge). I am sharing some of my favorite buffets from Redoux. (Note, I am cheating and counting side boards too…)Starting in no particular order of my favers. It’s a buffet after all, you don’t have to do things in order!
#1 Changing table turned buffet. It was a really nice Dark Mahogany color. I layered CeCe Caldwell’s Seattle Mist and Vintage White, followed by a Grey Glaze to get this beautiful weathered finish.
#2 This went to the French Baker. The top just needed a little TLC, the base painted in only one coat of CeCe Caldwell’s Vintage White.
#3 A roadside score. It was sitting in someone’s driveway, I picked it up for very little cash. Layers of CeCe’s Young Kansas Wheat, Omaha Ochre and Dark and Clear Wax for lovely aged look.
#4 Beautiful Maple Buffet finished in one very thin coat CeCe’s Vintage White, a little aging wax, heavily distressed.#5 (This may be my favorite). Madame H. Body is in CeCe’s Pittsburg Grey lightened with Dover White. Door fronts and drawer are in California Gold, mixed with Dover White (this is a non pigmented paint which lightens colors without changing the essential color, love this product, great for a wash too).
Sharing my Buffets (there is a lot to go around) with these respectable establishments:
Gorgeous assortment!! I don’t know why, but I’m a sucker for buffets. I’m always too busy working on others pieces that I’ve never done my own. This winter, for sure!! :o)
I love the versatility of buffets! Great pieces, Karen. 🙂
