Happy Tuesday, today will be my trashiest, trash talking post of the week. Full of just junque. But only the good kind of trash talk.
Friends, it is happening again. Too much stuff. Too much junque on my side yard. Too much junque in front of my work bench. 
(I did find three bent back chairs and a whole lot more at a garage sale, all for $20)

If you were to take a peek over my fence, this is what you would see. See the bench on the ground in front of the bench hanging up? I found the bench in a Dumpster, it is actually really nice, but we haven’t gotten around to switching it out with the bench hanging up, which incidentally, is falling apart. (Sidenote: My friend Rhea and her husband at Saltaire Restoration make these amazing bench swings from old shutters. I am buying one next summer. After you read about my junque, go check them out) 
I sold just about every last thing this weekend at Paris Flea Market, and I was so thrilled. This means I can maybe, finally start putting a serious dent into my “stuff” that has been accumulating for oh so long. I promised myself on Saturday it would be my last Dumpster Diving day for an entire month. A MONTH! This being the first of the month, I thought it would all be downhill from here. My resolve dissolved as soon as I got up at the crack of dawn. I realized I had time to hit my favorite Apartment Dumpster complex before my kids were up. People may have moved out on Sunday, and I may have missed something good. So off I went, feeling like an addict who needed a fix.
Someone threw out this perfectly lovely headboard and footboard, and gave me the bed rails as well!!! That was definitely worth falling off the Dump Truck Wagon for.
I found this glass table this morning. Not bad, it could be decent if painted.
And finally, I was GIVEN this by Susan at Paris Flea Market. So, see? I don’t even have to get in my car and look for junque. I am just a junque magnet. 
So, here I sit, shamelessly sharing what I found. And it was goooood. I will not, I will not, I will not go Dumpster Diving again. Until next Monday and maybe over the weekend someone threw something else out that was really good. Hopefully by then, this pile will be much smaller…..
I would LOVE to go dumpster diving with you! In fact, I would love to go through your garage and just look at all your goodies. You always make me smile when I read what you write about your “junque.” I think I want to be you. 🙂

I love how you are such a “junquie” about your junque :). I have the same problem with thrift store shopping… My basement looks like your garage. So glad you sold most of your beautiful stuff at Paris Flea. Can’t wait to see what you will be doing next 🙂

You’ve got some great things to work on, Karen! I think my husband would turn purple if I brought home more than I could work on in a week’s time. : ) I do want to try your apartment dumpster diving idea though. There are a few nice ones not far from me, I just need to remember to try and get out early on the first of the month. You always seem to find such great stuff!
When did you drive by my garage and take those pictures? So funny because mine looks exactly the same and I live in Minnesota. I always say this is the season to load up because nobody likes to haul out their junk when it snows, so the pickings get slim. At least thats what I tell myself when things start to pile up. Just last night we rearranged a bedroom so I could move completed pieces out of the garage and get to the workbench. So embarrassing when people drive by and see my mess, I live next door to the house that gets yard of the week awards. I’ve had people stop and walk up the driveway thinking I’m having a rummage sale.
Step away from the dumpster ~ step away from the dumpster… What? Who am I to talk, my house, garage and yard look the same way!!! BTW… I found something for you on the World’s Longest Yardsale… stay tuned 😀
I’m a total enabler so I say keep diving. LOL 🙂 I went dumpster diving at the local university back in May (my first time ever) and I was a giggling mess. I kept thinking “Karen would be so proud of me”. HaHa! It really is fun and it is just amazing what a piece can be transformed into!

Are you sure, absolutely sure, you can stay away from the dumpster? You have found some Great stuff! I have a chair-addiction myself, love your chairs (did I see a toddler rocking chair?)

Skilled photography makes it look worse than it is. It actually adds a bit of Sanford and Sons charm to our humble abode.

I love the junque. I got in trouble for buying a desk/hutch at a garbage sale and getting 2 free chairs from a friend. But I sense more junque in my future. Much to hubby’s chagrin…

I have more junque for you!! 4 Iron Chairs that sat out in the sun to long and lost the rope seat. Also two iron swivel barstools. If you redoux them…….I might buy them back so give me warning when you take them back to Paris Flea Market !! So come with an empty Van on Saturday before we head down to Solana Beach to Debi Beards, Vintage House.
