School is back in. Homework to complete, tests to study for, papers to write, it can be distressing! It is at my house! What to do to balance the distressing situation? A good sturdy desk, perfectly distressed with CeCe Caldwell’s paints that is! Don’t distress, the desk has already done it for you!
I started with this solid, but ho hum desk. I found it a while back and it has been serving as a surface to collect lots of garbage in Mr. Red’s room. Time to rethink our strategy. We decided to do a little remodel on his room, and I got the desk in the deal. I wanted something warm that would compliment the existing black. CeCe Caldwell’s Sedona Red to the rescue.
The existing paint was uneven in texture, but I used this to my advantage. I love how this can look when you apply one thin coat of CeCe Caldwell’s paints. The uneven paint and texture, takes on a gorgeous, varied look.
I sprayed out the hardware in a hammered bronze to update the faux brass look. The entire piece is sealed with CeCe Caldwell’s Endurance, a hard wearing sealer that can stand up to piles of books, lots of pencil points, and the occasional forgotten glass of water left on it.
Happy to say, it went home with a teenager at our last Paris Flea Market sale. It is hard at work serving it’s new owner. Join us at our next Paris Flea Market sale, October 3rd-6th.
My desk is being studious at these lovely parties:
The desk looks awesome! That might have to be my next paint color purchase 🙂 Question for you on the Endurance… would that be a good top coat for a dining room table that’s painted? Thanks!
Your desk looks great, just beautiful!
Love that red color…so perfect for autumn! I bet that new owner is so stoked!! 🙂 Great job, Karen.
This desk came out great and I really like the color.

cutenicole I really want fifth haomnry to come out of nowhere and take over the X factor! I don’t expect them to win, but everyone is assuming they will go home next week and I want to see them in the finale. They have been improving with every performance, unlike their competitors we have seen real growth from them. I’d love to see them in the finale!
