Trashy Tuesday, I am the Junque Whisperer
Happy Trashy Tuesday! I took a break last week. Much better now! It has been several weeks since I was “dumpster diving”, but did that stop the junque from finding me? Can I HELP it if people call me, text me, INSIST I pick things up that are sitting on the sidewalks near their homes, while they were walking their dogs, on their way to work, etc. NON!
It isn’t as if I hear whispers in my head of junk calling me, but it really follows me around. Maybe if I dressed a bit nicer, it would leave me alone.
If you follow me on Instagram, you can see my “junque whispers” as they happen!
I went all the way to San Diego for a CeCe Caldwell get together (which I will be raving about soon!). I didn’t even bring my own car, I was minding my own business. We were on our way back from a Flea Market when I spotted off in the horizon, “FREE”. It was a gorgeous, HUGE library table.
There was no way it was fitting in the car, so I offered to sit with it while my friend went back to get a truck. I sat there like a hen waiting for an egg to hatch!! We got the table backsafely, where I am sure you will see it painted in fun CeCe Caldwell’s colors soon.
A few days after I arrived home, several text messages came in from a friend that there was a chair sitting in front of a house that had been foreclosed upon. FREE all over it. Of course it wasn’t going to let it sit there any longer. It had already been abandoned, left behind, so undignified. (I need more upholstering projects like I need more things on the side of my house….)
This week, text from a friend, on his way to work, FREE DESK. People, desk season is kicking into high gear. I NEVER pass up a perfectly good free desk, especially during back to school time. I will remove the top, but other than that. Le Perfect.
Maybe one morning, I accidentally did drive over to my favorite Apartment Dumpsters, and maybe I found this little cabinet?? It was missing a leg, so being the toughie that I am, I broke off the other three. I did some repairs and it is sporting four casters now. Will be sharing soon.
And look, I found it’s long lost cousin!!! I may have just taken a detour on my way to Target and driven behind the line of shops there….Poor rolling cart, beheaded and broken apart. All the drawers were still there. I have it back together again, it is still headless. Finishing that soon.
That’s it for today!!
that first table is awesome! i picked up a free table this weekend you will love!
That library table rocks!! Doesn’t it always seem to happen when you’re not looking for junk? I keep saying, “No more till I can do something with what I got, then BAM! another piece jumps right in front of me. Sigh. Such is a junkers life. :oP
Ha Ha you are the Junk Whisper!!!!! Just when you think there is not another piece of Junk with your name onit one pops up. I love the table such character with that piece. I know you will do beautiful transformations.

I can picture your posse of friends throughout the city texting you when they see random junk on the side of the road! Lucky you!!

Great stuff as always Karen! I love seeing all the great junque you find!
I LOVE reading about your escapades!! It just makes me smile! I am trying to get the nerve up to attempt some of these projects, I just don’t have the confidence in myself. I have lots of furniture that needs some TLC. I just need to DO it. As long as I have all your notes beside me, I should be OK. You should offer on-line courses! LOL!! Hugs to you . . . ❤ ◡‿◡ ❣
That library table is the score of the century! You have a gift!
You are my hero 🙂
You’ve been busy!!
