Vintage Twins, Nightstands with Jewelery

Furniture and Cabinetry Redouxs, Furniture Makeovers, Le Junque

Have you met my twins?

I found them on the sidewalk last week, with a sign that had my name on it!  Did you know if it says “Free”, it really means, “Good Time Charlie”.  Unfortunately, I can’t pick up EVERY free piece that is put out there for me, but these were too cute.  Not a blemish upon them!

Emma and I worked like crazy last week. Emma painted these gorgeous twins in CeCe Caldwell’s Young Kansas Wheat.  Truly, one of my favorite colors.  It shows up like a Champagne color on these nightstands, but on a darker piece, can take on a completely different hue.

We decided they needed petite little Chrystal pulls instead of those ubiquitous brass pulls that were on them before.

Once they were dry, I came in with 320 grit sandpaper to make them super smooth, and finished with 220 grit to distress them.  I could have used a wet rag to distress too, but I was in an aggressive sand paper kind of mood.

I sealed them with CeCe’s Waxing Cream, which I LOVE.  It is instant gratification.  You only need a little bit, spread it around, then you can start buffing almost immediately for that gorgeous, glass like finish.

My twins will be at Paris Flea Market next weekend, Thursday-Sunday.  If you live in the area, be sure to come by for our Haunted Warehouse Sale!  Kind of like our August Parking Lot sale, but with lots of Halloween all around.

PS I really do have twins.  They sat still long enough for our annual Big Chair picture (sans MIA teenage daughter with better things to do)

My Vintage twins will be visiting at these lovely parties this week:

Love both your twins, Karen! I really like the softness of that color, too. It was perfect! 🙂

Thanks Larissa! I love this color, I kind of get stuck on a color for a little while, I think I am stuck on Young Kansas Wheat right now.

There is absolutely no reason in the world to climb into a stinky dumpster when you find treasures like that sitting on the curb!
    Beautiful! Those won’t last long!

Thanks Jan!! I really couldn’t believe my good fortune with these two. I haven’t had to actually climb “into” a dumspter in a while!

I LOVE how you put 2 pulls on the drawers where the old brass pull used to be! I will have to remember that fabulous idea!

Thanks Jill! I am so excited that there is a Hobby Lobby in my neighborhood now! I saw those teeny little knobs there and knew that would be the perfect fit for these little nightstands.

Elaine that is hilarious!!! Umm….Yes! I got it more when they were little, AFTER I had explained they were boy and girl. Every time it just left me sort of puzzled, then amused! I have come across so many bloggers with twins, something in the water!
