Trashy Tuesday, Trash Free, but Full of Junque

Le Junque

Happy Trashy Tuesday 2014!!  I hope you all had the trashiest, junque filled holidays.  I slowed up a bit on the Dumpster Diving, but I did find a few goodies.  Mostly after Christmas decor.  Why go buy it when you can find it for free!

Enough holiday talk, let’s trash talk.  I had a spectacular Free To Me week.  I was given these swivel stools from a sweet friend who knows how much I love broken, worn out furniture.  Just think how cute these will be when they receive a total makeover!

I got my hair cut, colored and Pinked today!  Guess what else I received?  This Adorable Tea Cart from my Hairapist, Nancy.  She has had it for a long time and was ready to see it move on.  Another fab makeover on the DIY list…..

And…..this Trashy post would not be complete if I did not do some sort of trash picking.  I scored a bunch of smaller items at a huge garage sale Friday.  The sale went through Saturday, and I knew they would most likely not sell everything.  What did I do?  AGSS.  After Garage Sale Shopping!   I found pillows!   These are great for recovering.

This is the best way to score freebies that were passed over.  In the Spring, when Garage Sale season is in high gear, I make it a point to drive around every  Saturday afternoon.  Most weekends I will find at least one good item that no one wanted because they couldn’t see the potential in it.  Like these frames I found last Spring.  I painted and sold every one of those frames.

As part of my New Years resolutions, I am resolving to be far pickier about what I drag home, and continue to clear out my garage/work space. I hope I can hold strong on my New Years resolution.  Unfortunately, free furniture for me is like a bargain shopper at a discount store when everything is 70% off.  I just gotta have it!

Hope you have a totally Trashy Week.

I am trying to be a little more picky too! The older I get, the less stuff I want! … But yes, free is pretty hard to turn down!

Hi Karen…. love everything as usual…. lol I’m curious; what do repainted frames go for these days (price)? I picked up a box full but have no idea what to price them for.

    Happy New Year,
