Welcome to Trashy Tuesday! We totally talk trash here, but today we are talking treasure!! Grandma’s Treasures!
I found 8, count them 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8!!!!!!!! Cristal d’arques Water Glasses. I know this isn’t exactly Waterford or Tiffany, but not bad!! They were all individually wrapped in packing materials. Like they had never even been opened!
I also found a large comforter plastic holder. Not sure what was inside, but it looked good. 
When I opened it, I found this pile of hand embroidered vintage table cloths, napkins and runners. All in almost perfect condition. I know, stop hating me, I don’t have good hair, but I do have amazing trash.
The bag also contained this Queen Sized Chenille bedspread. How cute for some pillows or upholstery? (I will wash them thoroughly, don’t worry. I even have washed furniture foam, you can wash tons of stuff in a washing machine if you are careful).
For my romantic side, I found a bunch of old sheet music books. I hope whatever project I make with the pages of Romeo and Juliet doesn’t end in tragedy……
I also found PAGES of empty sheet music. Maybe in my spare time I will pursue that dream of writing music. First I must do something about that habit I have of making up fake words to real songs.
I am positive the Barenaked Ladies were making up words to another tune when they came up this diddy:

The theme of the last few weeks has been household goods. This week did not disappoint. I was down to one big whisk. I have an egg whisk and medium sized one, plus a nice stainless steel strainer spoon.
My last pastry cutter wasn’t cutting it. Good thing I found one today. Much more solid than the one I previously owned.
Don’t forget the school supplies! I have quite the collection of glue sticks now. I have found them at least once a month. Glue sticks make everything more fun.
And oh yeah! That trip to Nashville! I went with some of my friends from CeCe Caldwells paints. More on that coming soon! I had some time to kill on my last day and decided to check out the local dumpsters around my hotel. If you ever wanted to know what hotel dumpsters have the most of, this is the common denominator. Did you catch that clever word play? Leave a comment if your brain works like mine.
If I could have taken one of them home I would have totally painted it in CeCe Caldwell’s Santa Fe Turquoise and made a planter out of it.
The week was so fun, more details coming on Nashville, but what is a good Mormon Girl doing with all of these empty liquor bottles?
I actually found those this morning and someone was nice enough to leave me a box to stick them in. Cleaned up and painted with a fun graphic, they are transformed.
There was more, but I will save it for next week. Your eyes must be getting tired now and all MY PRECIOUS things I have found. Until next week, keep it totally trashy!

OMG What wonderful finds. I do love that Chenille bedspread and it would even fit my bed. You are the most lucky person around to find such treasures. Can’t believe the wonderful items that people throw in the trash.

Girl, YOU crack me up! So much energy…so early in the morning! How do you do it all?! Driving all over town collecting treasures then come home to take pics to share and write these sweet, hilarious journals to share with us all?!?! Let’s not even begin on the time and energy it takes for your business. You are indeed multi-talented and blessed!
You are so sweet Paula. Truly, I have it down to a pretty good system so I don’t have to hunt all over town. Some things remain consistent with trash! I just feel very blessed that I get to share it with other people!
What an amazing find. It does make me sad that someone wouldn’t find value in such beautiful, thoughtful things. The good news is you rescued it, now these pieces can live on with someone who treasures them.

I was contemplating writing a song for you to the tune of One Week, you know just a little jingle about being one week since you last dived but the rhymes were not flowing. Probably because of all the schmidtty stuff behind the hotel.

I am also amazed at your energy to hunt down these treasures! May I correct you on one item? That is not a chenille bedspread but is called candlewicking. I know it show my age LOL.

I swear, Karen, you’re the luckiest dumpster diver! LOVE the container of pretty crocheted and embroidered goodies. Those are really good glasses. We have the same ones without the stem. Very well made and last forever. You lucky duck! Please come to Texas and take me diving !!

Well this is something I never thought I would be saying but I LOVE YOUR TRASH! I get dirty diapers, moldy food, and things I have no idea of what they were and dont really want to know by the looks of them. You are a very lucky girl.

Those glasses are so pretty, what a great find! I picked up some similar ones a while back at a thrift store for super cheap, but my sister liked them so much I let her keep them. Now I want to be a bully and take them back. Jk. Kinda 🙂

Was that right Karen? Anyway so happy you had to leave the toilets where they were behind our hotel in Nashville. I don’t think they would work at Paris Flea Market! I might have to put on the Agreement, no dolls, no fake flowers and no toilet planters! LOL
The pastry cutter is actually a Pampered Chef Crinkle cutter. Great for chopping turnips,butternut squash and such.
I forsee a front lawn filled with blooming toilets in your future – the ultimate dumpster diva find!!

That is funny you say that, because we have a postage sized front lawn/big backyard. We are planning on taking up the front lawn and replacing with…..maybe toilets as planters, like in THE HELP!
