How To Decorating a Patio With Junk

Happy Summer!!   Where I live, it’s a long hot one……

“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer.” -Albert Camus

Wherever you live, whatever your plans might be this summer, I just wanted to remind you of a few things.

#1 You don’t need money to enjoy being outside.  The only thing in this yard I paid for were the flowers, the pots, and the joint compound.  I used Free to Me paint, leftover wall paint, and a sample of CeCe Caldwell’s Santa Fe Turquoise.

Update since this was written.  I only use Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paints, 100% Natural Clay Based.  I would recommend Old ’57 and Cake Batter for some of the projects shown here.

#2 You don’t have to have any special skill to transform your backyard-patch of yard-porch-balcony.  All you need is a desire to create a place that is comfortable for you and your loved ones.

#3 There are no rules in Summer decorating.  (In my world, there are no rules in decorating.  EVER).  The more the merrier, people, flowers, and Junk!

So let’s get to it, How to Decorate a Patio with Junk! Here is a round up of my yard from past posts:

Roadside found Planks Topped Table.  Table was a free to me from someone who was moving.  Planks were found by the side of the highway.  You can read about me, high heels and long dirty planks of wood HERE.

Wall of Garage Door Panels.  Picked up from Garage door company getting ready to throw them out.  I secured them together and they provide a lovely outdoor wall.

Vertical Pallet for Annuals.  This project was even featured in Country Living Magazine of April last year!

Chippy, aged pots.  Inexpensive Terra Cotta Pots get better with age by applying Joint Compound and paint!

Hope your summer is long and relaxing and full of Junky goodness and  you learned something about how to Decorate a Patio with Junk 🙂
