Trashy Tuesday Take a Chair

Gather round for Trashy Tuesday!

The trashiest place around where we discuss nothing but junk, Dumpster Diving, Curbside Shopping and just plain trash talk.

It’s been a while since I have rounded up some junk.  Now that my garage is cleaned up, side yard purged of all my “cr*P”.  It’s time to go shopping, aka Dumpster Diving again.

1st up, this broken chair.  I had the most difficult time getting it to sit up straight.

I am unsure of what I will do to fix that caning.  I might just try covering the whole thing with fabric.  It’s being difficult.  I think I will have to cut some of the caning away to  put Humpty Dumpty back together again.  Oh yes, and the arm is broken on one side too.

Sigh.

How about 4 free dining chairs?????

I came across these one day while on my usual kid errands.  Of COURSE I made a U-Turn when I saw FREE CHAIRS out of the corner of my eye.

Sometimes I wonder if people who put things on the curb secretly stand there and watch to see what kind of weirdo stops to pick up their junk.  That weirdo would be me…

Two arm chairs and two side chairs.  Oh and that table was an almost freebie from a friend who moved.

What’s that mannequin doing there you ask?  Why that’s Manny the Mannequin.  Our family Junking mascot.  You can read all about how to came to our family HERE.

Manny creeps Suffering Husband out. Manny has been relegated to the Bonus Room. Bonus for Manny, the chairs are comfy there.

If you spied the CeCe Caldwell’s on the table, then you are sharp!!  Virtually all my JUNK gets a makeover with CeCe Caldwell’s 100% Natural Chalk + Clay Based Paints. No chemicals, no latex, no acryclic.  My junk can’t get enough of it.

One more piece to sit on.  I found this Vinyl Chair that needs some love behind an old grocery store, that I may have just happened to be driving behind to “see” if there was any junk worth picking up.

It will need some vinyl patching, but then it will be good as new with a couple coats of CeCe Caldwell’s 100% Natural Chalk + Clay Based Paints.  If you want to see other examples of how I painted vinyl and made it stick, check out THIS post and THIS post.

That’s it for my Trashy Tuesday.  I hope you have a fabulous week full of tons of junk.

I’m so glad to know that I’m not the only one who makes weird side trips around stores to see what goodies are lurking in the shadows! lol I call it Treasure Hunting and my kids are so used to it they don’t think anything of their mom pulling over to rummage thru a dumpster…although once, one of my son’s classmates family caught me pulling old deck wood out of a dumpster…awkward! But worth it. ~wink~
