How to Create a Whitewashed look Plus the Toughest Finish
How to create that Whitewashed Denim look. Plus! Get the toughest finish for your painted furniture, 100% Naturally of course, using CeCe Caldwell’s Products. (Some of these products may no longer be available from CeCe Caldwells)
Here is a product list of what I recommend using my all new favorite 100% Natural Debi’s Design Diary DIY Paint. It’s a Clay Based Paint, the only one of the market like it. Every color is highly pigmented, doesn’t really need stirring. It goes on like Velvet. There is no Latex or Acrylic so it won’t seize up on you and it dries hard as rock, yet has a beautiful smooth feel. It also bonds with just about any surface you paint it on.
You will need Deb’s Design Diary Crystal Clear Liquid Patina, White Swan Paint and DIY Paint’s 100% Natural Clear Wax.
Let’s get started. Mix the Dover White Wash (which is a CeCe Caldwell’s paint base, with no pigment added). For this project, I used a 1:4 ratio. Check out my how to video:
Now that the glaze has dried, you will want to protect that finish from scratches and spills. I used CeCe Caldwell’s 100% Natural Flat Matte, 3 coats. The EASIEST finish to brush on. When all 3 coats were dry, I used CeCe Caldwell’s 100% Natural Waxing Cream.
Now check out this video to see how easy it was to get that tough, durable finish. Check out how I spill Diet Pepsi on it (Not an endorsement 😉 and my dog jumps on it! No need to worry about scratches or spills, this finish can take it.
Have you tried DIY Paints and Products? If not, why not? No Latex, no acrylic, they are 100% Safe to use inside. No chemicals, no yucky stuff, just all natural goodness. Even the cans are 100% recyclable and everything is 100% American Made.
Just like my Coffee Table. Built locally from reclaimed wood. Now finished with a relaxed Whitewashed Denim look and the toughest Finish.
Now for the winner! Congratulations Darren Stokes!!
