Trashy Tuesday The Dumpster Chairs
Welcome to Trashy Tuesday The Dumpster Chairs. Full disclosure, I did not pull a single chair out of an actual dumpster. We are using the term “Dumpster” loosely here today.
I pulled this chair into my car from the side of the road. A VERY BUSY road. I might add. The kind where you pull over, use the automatic trunk open button on your mini van. Check your rear view mirror several times before daring to open the driver side door. Jump out, close the door fast, run around the car, snap a picture with your smart phone (best if the camera is ready to do its thing before you get out of car).
You don’t have time to assess the situation of why the chair is there in the first place. You just grab, throw it in the car, look for oncoming traffic so you can repeat the process of getting back in your car without being taken out by an SUV full of soccer kids, and on you go.
These two chairs. (Don’t you love the shapes?) Were left over from someone’s move. They initially had a Salvation Army sign on them. Guess what, not even Salvation Army wanted them. The sign got downgraded to FREE. You know FREE is my love language.
Don’t know what I am going to do with them yet. For now, they are helping to max out the free space in my garage.
I am thinking of cutting the seats and the two inside legs to make one cool half circle bench. Like this one I found on Google Images.
Yeah right. That would require not only a ton of work, like upholstering the entire thing, but would require me to stay the course with a project that takes more than a month……Onto the next plan.
This chair came to me by my sweet neighbor. They bought new chairs and I thought I could make this into a planter of some sort.
Stay tuned, we are supposed to make a video together. She is several months pregnant so probably should get going on this soon. She also has an adorable website and is an uber talented photographer. You can check it out here at Lookyloo Photography.
These last 4 chairs came to me by way of a sweet friend who has 3 sweet boys around the same age as Mr. Red. I am amazed with 3 boys and several years with these chairs, they are actually still standing upright. I am looking for my free table to match these 4 chairs.
They will all be receiving a glorious CeCe Caldwell’s 100% Natural Chalk + Clay Based Paint makeover. What more could a bunch of free furniture ask for????
That’s it for this week’s edition of Trashy Tuesday The Dumpster Chairs
If you can believe it. My Dumpster Gods are with me again and I have MORE to share with you next week. I must be going, there is some painting and upcycling awaiting me.
Hope your week is super trashy and all your junky dreams come true. See you around the Dumpsters.
cool beans! love that you are sharing again! Here in my little town people are starting to make piles on their curb for large-trash pickup day. Although I drove around to look the other day I forced myself not to pick up the goodies I saw. We have made the decision that we need to move and I have enough to deal with as it is. So, it’s fun to see you pick up what I cannot.
