New Ways to Upcycle Old Books

If you are new here, then let me introduce you to my addictions: dumpster diving and upcycling! I have been digging in the trash for over 20 years, finding hidden gems of broken furniture, decor, books, and more. I drag discarded items home to give them a new life. It is my favorite thing to do: Dumpster Diving and Upcycling.

One thing I often encounter is dumped books. Over 320 million books are dumped into landfills annually—unwanted, over-published, slightly damaged, and more. So before you get upset that another upcycle “ruined” a book, remember that we are saving these books from landfills. You can read more about this project I did a while ago HERE.

Not Sure What To Do With Old Books? Turn Them into treasures in a few easy steps!

Another of my favorite passions is contributing Content to the Turquoise Iris Journal. The Journal is a gorgeous quarterly magazine about and by creatives. It is a timeless curation of creativity. Because I am a content contributor, I am also part of the journal’s online exclusive blogs!

My latest blog post showed some creative ways to makeover old books. I used my favorite DIY Paint and Iron Orchid Designs supplies to do this. Head over to the Turquoise Iris Journal online to see more and get step-by-step instructions on how to do the same.
