Welcome to Redoux Interiors!
If you stick around a bit, you will see I don’t take anything too seriously. Of course I can be serious, but you won’t find me too serious here. I don’t take my hair too seriously either. Sometimes chunks of it are pink, sometimes they are red, and if I go too long between coloring, then parts of it are grey.
I love Junk which I affectionately call “Junque” . Trash makeovers are my most favorite thing in the world. The trashier the better.
I have been in the furniture refurbishing “biz” for about 10 years now. Every year I am more amazed at the advances in paints, finishes, and most of all the talent of everyone who shares in the blogosphere.
I am a 5th generation SF Bay Area native, but my husband is a New York native. Go figure. I had to go all the way to the other coast to find a suitable partner.
This is Mark, he calls himself “Suffering Husband”. He does show up here once in a while, but mostly to make comments or tease me. Too bad we don’t have any fun together.
I have three kids which I don’t talk about too often here. They do sometimes make rare guest appearances. I like to keep their star power at a minimum so they grow up normal (my version of normal, don’t know what your version is)
What you will find is tons of information on how to restore old furniture. How to take broken dressers, tables, drawer fronts, beds, and give them a new life.
The best place to start looking is my PROJECTS GALLERY. From my home page. I have some wonderful tutorials on how to paint a Faux Wood Treatment, how to glaze, and other random furniture and junque goodness.
If you want to see any of my junque in real life, I sell it at Paris Flea Market in Livermore, California.
Thank you so much for checking out my silly blog. I hope you will stick around and hang out with me for a while. I promise, it is never dull here.
Things can get dirty here, as in good clean dirt from my Dumpster Diving adventures, but this is a family friendly blog after all!
One final note of interest. I am a fluent in Franglaise. I love all things French, but I don’t speak a lick of the true language of love, so I just make my own hybrid version of it as I go.
Thanks for checking me out. If you leave me a comment, I might come check you out too 🙂
