Master Bathroom Makeover How To Paint a Sub Floor And...I had ZERO budget. You got that right. ZERO budget to makeover of my Master Bathroom. I wanted a Farm House look and I had to get very creative with everything I had on hand. Paints, glazes, and the biggest conundrum of all, what to do with the floor when we pulled up that awful carpet. The first thing I did was make those "what was I thinking" bright yellow walls disappear. I painted them in Sherwin Williams Repose Grey. (Which I had quite a bit of from another project). **Update, since this post writing I no longer use CeCe paints. Some of the colors and products I used are no longer available. I have found ...

How to Makeover a Vintage Buffet to a Boho Buffet Boho look. Layered and chippy. Drippy and Free. Oh how I love you! This look is so easy to achieve! Have you seen this look around the internet? These two ladies create magic with DIY Paint, and this is one of my favorite looks they create. I have always wanted to make over one of these BIG Vintage Buffets, but the price tag on obtaining one for a makeover did not fit into my FREE budget. With all my snooping around Dumpsters and Free Furniture I find, you would think I would ...
Dumpster Nightstand Makeover
Dumpster Nightstand Makeover This post contains affiliate links. I am extremely opinionated, so you won't have any problem seeing that all the opinions are my own. I practice what I preach, and every product I recommend I love. It's not what you think. A one night nightstand. I am just not that kind of girl. I like to Dumpster Dive at night sometimes, but when I do pick something up. I am committed to it for the long haul. Truly. My junk stays in my garage for months at a time before I decide I am going to try "change it". This Nightstand was found quite a while ago. It was the early morning hours when we met. It didn't look like it had been around the block too many ...
Upcycle a Bookshelf to a Rolling Cart
Upcycle a Book Shelf to a Rolling Cart. Happy Trashy Tuesday! I don't have a new project to share with you today, BUT, I do have some good Dumpster Finds. And they were my favorite kind this week. Not one, but two Dumpster Finds. The first IS a rolling cart already. Complete with 2 drawers, towel hangers on each side. Sadly, someone took all the sides and inside out. Very strange. Usually the drawers break before everything else. These drawers are made well, not just glued but have Dove Tail Construction. I have plenty of old Fence Boards and Scrap wood lying around. I am sure I will be able to find the right reclaimed wood for this upcycled cart. Onto Rolling piece of ...

How to Turn a Bookshelf Into a Rolling Cart
How to Turn a Bookshelf Into a Rolling Cart Did you know that a mediocre 2 shelf Bookshelf is one of the most versatile pieces of furniture? You can do so many things with one of those! I mentioned last Trashy Tuesday I received a very burned bookshelf from my friend who had a fire above her garage. The bookshelf needed a lot of cleaning, structurally, it was still sound. Just not looking too attractive. In fact, my friends couldn't believe I wanted it! I knew right away I wanted to turn it into a rolling cart. That is one of the best things you can do with any short bookshelf. I turned it over, cut off the peg legs and then screwed ...
Trashy Tuesday Free Furniture of 2017
Trashy Tuesday New Years Resolutions Happy Tuesday! If you have been around here awhile, it's been a while since you have heard from me! This doesn't mean I have stopped my trashy habits of Dumpster Diving or Upcycling. I just haven't shared in a while because 2017 was busy! Here's a recap of some of the my favorites from 2017. I rescued this bookshelf from a friend who had a terrible fire. After cleaning out what was left of the room above their garage, they let me take the bookshelf home with me. It turned into a rolling cart with reclaimed fence boards framing it out. More on that coming soon. I also found this Dresser at.....I seriously cannot remember. All I ...
Trashy Tuesday Trashy Makeovers
Trashy Tuesday Trashy Makeovers It's been a while! And oh my, do I have a lot of junk to trash talk with you. Do you remember Actually, it's a twin. I found 2 of them a few months ago when someone in my neighborhood was moving. They so nicely left a whole bunch of trash in a Giant Dumpster and these 2 buckets were things I pulled out. I painted them using the The Turquoise Iris method. At DIY Paint, we call it #Do The Dionne. Dionne of The Turquoise Iris is a master at blending DIY Paint with a water bottle and a few tricks. I painted this bucket with DIY Paint in Summer Crush, Marquis and Queen Bee. I used a Water Bottle to make the paint blend, while it was still ...
What The Junk
What The Junk Did you know that Urban Dictionary defines "What The Junk" as the following? Quite possibly the coolest non-profane exclamation there is. To know me, is to know that I love Junk and Junk is my love language. So what have I been doing with all my junk? Well that's a complicated answer.... First I took off for a 2 week Workcation to Utah. Hiked almost every single day, (this is Provo Canyon) and there is definitely no junk here! Back to real life. Our refrigerator broke down and died while we are on vacation. Yippee! It's covered under warranty. What? You don't know how to fix it and have to bring in a specialist? WHAT? That specialist isn't available ...
Trashy Tuesday Upscale Junking
Trashy Tuesday Upscale Junking What is Upscale Junking you might ask? It is actually looking for junk in a "reputable" business establishment. One where a form of currency changes hands between the junker and the junkee. I just made that up, but it explains the difference perhaps between Dumpster Diving, which you can read all about in my 3 part series HERE. And actually "going junking", that is, frequenting junk stores. I recently had the opportunity to do some upscale Junking with some fabulous DIY Paint retailers from Alaska! Sue Mann of Artzy Junkin and Abbey Ulen. Abbey works with Sue and has her own amazing artwork, check it out HERE. Abbey and Sue came down to the San ...
Vintage Botanical Dresser
Vintage Botanical Dresser Yes, it's ME! I have something new and exciting to share with you. Well, something old that I made look even older. But New To You! My Vintage Botanical Dresser. Vintage Botanical is not my usual MO, but I decided to try something out of my comfort zone. Try it, it's good for you to do something out of your comfort zone every day, and this was wayyyy out of my comfort zone. It started with my friend Jennifer from Artistic Painting Studio and Fauxy Rollers. Jennifer sent me the Leaf Pattern Roller to try and some of her wonderful plaster. This was my dresser before. Basic Craigs List Find. Nice Basset Dresser, ho hum. The drawers were AWOL ...
