Trashy Tuesday Digging for Junk Happy Trashy Tuesday! I have been Digging for Junk. Literally! About a week ago I got a text from friends who have recently relocated to "land" in the country from "suburban home" in my neighborhood. Along with having more space, they also inherited a lot of Junk. I was invited to come pick through their stuff. And oh my goodness, was it amazing. Piles and Piles and boxes and boxes of surprises. One whole section of the yard was FREE! Most of it was junk beyond junk, but how fun is Free? In exchange for the Flat Bed Trailer that the previous owner was going to remove, they bought the trailer and all the trash that came with the property. And ...

How to Make a Door Chalkboard from a bunch of junk
How to Make a Door Chalkboard from a bunch of Junk (This post was originally written in 2012, but the instructions remain the same, paint brand has changed) Do you remember this thing I pulled out of le garbage? My client had texted me the night before I found this, asking if I could make a "door" sized chalkboard for her kitchen. The next morning, doing my rounds of looking behind businesses for their good "trash". I saw this lying on top of a bunch of boxes. It was there for moi! I knew with a little reinforcing and some foam core board, it would be perfect. If you are not so lucky to find this frame in the trash, you can easily duplicate this. Here is what you ...
Trashy Tuesday The Furniture Pile
Trashy Tuesday, The Furniture Pile Hello, welcome to a longggggg.....overdue edition of Trashy Tuesday. As life happens, life took over my life. But! It did not slow down my Dumpster diving, Trash snooping, Roadkill rescue, junking ways. I still brake for junk. I have however, set some serious limits for myself. I have a big garage. BIG. There is room enough for plenty of trash in there, some power tools, some garden equipment and my van. I have a rule that I am proud to say, have kept to for almost a year now. If my Van does not fit in the garage, and by fit, I mean we have to be able to open the doors and actually get out, then I can't add anything more to the ...

Trashy Table Makeover
Trashy Table Makeover This table was trashed. I found it....where else? Next to a Dumpster! It sat in my garage for a long time. Sort of like all the other Junk I collect. There must be a "curing" period for my trash. It goes like this: Get the urge to Dumpster Dive. Find Something amazing. Drag it home. Let it sit in the garage for a good 6 months. Finally get inspired to make it over....or....put it up on local Facebook Free Site. Luckily for the table I was inspired! I painted the base color in Debi's DIY Paint in Bead Board. It's a beautiful white, just not too bright white. The table then sat like that for another 2 weeks. Inspiration did not hit all ...

Trashy Tuesday Create a Photo Gallery Wall for Cheap
Trashy Tuesday Create a Photo Gallery Wall for Cheap Hello! It's Trashy Tuesday again, but it is actually Wednesday by the time this goes in the can. Have you always wanted to have a show stopper Photo Gallery Wall, but the cost of the frames, the math of figuring out where they all go, or just the work involved with all of it held you back? For years, at least 12 of them, I have wanted to have a photo gallery wall on my stairs. This is how the stairs looked before, clean beautiful walls, nicely painted stairs. You can read about how I did the stairs, and trust me, it wasn't easy, but I was thorough! HERE. And here is the best part, it cost me practically NOTHING. That's ...
