Old Drawers Turned Into Planters
Old Drawers turned into Planters! Looking for New Ideas for Planters? How about using old drawers? I was recently mourning the fact that the Pie Safe I had rescued from a Dumpster many months ago had finally gone to Pie Safe Heaven. You can read about that find HERE. It was in the saddest condition when I found it. I had grand dreams of bringing it back to life and making it bloom again. Sadly, it was beyond my capabilities and was past life support. In its honor, we planted flowers in its super cool and sturdy metal drawers. The Pie Safe was a clear victim of serious furniture neglect. I wanted to give it a new home, show it had life left in it. But ultimately, it was only ...
Trashy Tuesday, Look What’s Cookin!
Look what's cooking! A crock pot planter! Welcome to another edition of Trashy Tuesday, where we talk trash, LITERALLY! I cooked up something different this week! It isn't every day that you find something cooking in the trash. Well, I didn't actually find something cooking per se, but it recently had been used to cook. On a little run through near my Target Shopping Center a few weeks back, I spied this out of the corner of my eye. It came without a plug, but the lid and even the cooking temperature guide were intact. Apparently, so were remnants of the last meal cooked in it. I have a pretty strong stomach, nothing much in the yuk department ...

Start with any old drawer. The smaller the better. These are courtesy of Google Images. If it has a big front lip, cut the lip down, or just add little wood knobs for legs, so the drawer will sit evenly on a surface. I left these as is. The drawers came from a Junk find. I don't even ...

How To Make a Wood Pallet Planter
How to Make a Wood Pallet Planter. Dress up your Garden With Junk! Do you hang out behind warehouses? Do you see lots of pallets stacked in piles? Ever wonder what you could do with them? This is my take on a Wood Pallet Planter. Start with Small Terra Cotta Pots, I went with 8, you can do however many you decide will look good hanging on our pallet. I painted them cream with chalkboard paint around the rims I did a dry brush finish on the pallet, with my free to me "Google Paint" from a client. I used a board from another Pallet as the support and hung it on a fence post Then I drilled holes in the places where I wanted to hang the pots. I used a ...
