Happy Late Monday!! I spent the day cleaning out my garage…(again) Apparently this is a multi step task, but I think I may have reached the final step today….Sharing tomorrow at Trashy Tuesday.
You are here for my French Sofa Table, non?
Do you remember this table? It had a twin!
Instead of going metallic, you can read about that cool technique HERE. I went black/grey and sophistacted. I used CeCe Caldwell’s Vermont Slate and VERY black Beckley Coal. Both of these colors are beautiful on their own, but mixed together, oo la la! Très magnifique!
I kept two brushes handy. I started with the top and brushed a liberal amount of Vermont Slate, then went over it and blended it with Beckley Coal while the Vermont Slate was still wet. It seemed a little too plain on the top, so I added one of my favorite graphics from The Graphics Fairy. I used a simple Carbon Paper Transfer method. I printed the graphic, then used Carbon paper underneath to trace it onto the table. I then used a White Paint Sharpie to fill it in. When it was completely dry, I lightly sanded the entire piece and sealed it with my favorite 100% natural CeCe Caldwell’s Clear Wax.
Don’t you love the color variation?
The Sofa Table came and went at this weekend’s Paris Flea Market Sale. I love this finish, and will most definitely be using these two CeCe Caldwell colors together again. They are très compatibles.
My French Sofa Table is making the rounds at these lovely parties:
love, love, love the color! C’est magnifique!
It is so pretty! I will have to come to Paris Flea Market and buy one of your pieces to take with me to Texas!
I love this table and the lettering is so pretty!!!
Thank you for linking up to my Furniture and Paint Party!!

Hi Karen
Absolutely love what you have done with that piece. I have one very similar i painted just white(boring) and have been thinking lately to go grey/black. Sadly I don’t have access here in Australia to the lovely range of paints you use. Oh well I will create something here that will suffice. Thank you for inspiring me.
Cheers
Karen
Just beautiful Karen!
