Happy Wednesday! If you stopped by yesterday at Trashy Tuesday, you were reminded of the mess I had on the side of my yard…..it has much improved since that photo was taken (much is a strong word). However, I am making good on my promise to work my way through my Dumpster finds.
Don’t you love happy surprises. I knew this table had potential, but I never knew it had SO much potential! I thought it would be a cute little thing, but I never knew it would be so sophisticated!
This is what I had to begin with. Sad, Sad, Sad. Dirty. A victim of being too close to spray painted projects. Weather challenges. Overall neglect. Someone call the furniture police on me already!
After a very thorough cleaning, and decent sanding. First with a 220 grit on my palm sander. Then I finished it with a 320 grit to really make the wood perfectly smooth on the top. I realized I had seriously underestimated this little piece. I first stained the inlaid veneer with a Dark Walnut Stain. It wasn’t taking evenly. I moved onto my next bag of tricks. I used a very generous amount of Modern Masters Coffee Bean Colorant, you can order Modern Masters through Studio Primrose, Laura is also a CeCe distributor!)rubbed on with a lint free cloth.
I then turned my attention to the rest of the table. Just one coat of CeCe Caldwell’s Vintage White was all it took to bring the rest of it back to life. When the paint was dry, I smoothed it out to a perfectly satin smooth finish with a 320 sandpaper. I sealed it with my favorite 100% natural CeCe Caldwell’s wax. I rubbed some of this good stuff into my dried out cuticles too. I used the same rag I had used to “stain” the top, to add just a little more detail here and there.
I had to give the table a little extra attention since it had been so patient with me. Waiting for a Redoux. Not complaining. Not whining when it was constantly overlooked for more beautiful pieces. I added this little piece of Paris Art paper I had. The perfect ending to a perfectly sweet little table.
My little triumphant table took a trip to Paris Flea Market today where it will be for sale at next week’s event, starting Thursday night, May 2nd!
My table is showing off at these lovely blogs:

what a find! it looks amazing and the drawer is SO fun!
Did you adhere the paper inside? Getting ready to redo a stinky dresser and was thinking of mod podge for the drawers? Any advice? Thanks for all the weekly inspiration!
Of course this cute little table belongs to you. You are amazing! Love it! Blessings, Patti@OldThingsNew
The table looks great! At first I thought the top was chalkboard paint. I’ve never heard of this Modern Masters colorant before. Is it something from an art store?
Hugs,
Deborah
Classy! Hope it sells quick and gets to be put on display and loved as it should be!

Your patient little table turned out wonderful! Love the dark stain on top with the white base. And about the furniture police … that was too funny. I hope they don’t drive by when my garage door is up.
I LOVE your table. I so love to restyle old furniture. I always see things for what they can be. You have that gift as well. BEAUTIFUL!!! Beverly Tea Cottage Pretties.
