Proscatinators Christmas Tour Redouxinteriors
Welcome to Proscratinators Christmas Tour Redouxinteriors. Yep, I am a proscratinator. A selective procrastinator. I am thrilled to be included in a group of 15 junk/DIYer type gals like myself that just put together a holiday home tour, until well, halfway through December.
I fully decorated my home for the holidays the day before Thanksgiving. I knew this holiday season was going to be an extra busy one. I even made a checklist on an old door so I don’t forget the most important things I need to do between now and December 25th!
If you have been around here for a while, you might remember my Keeping It Real Christmas Home Tour last year. It was like Festivus for the Rest of Us. I really enjoy decorating my home for the holidays, but there are unfinished projects in every corner of my home. Why should I let this stop me from sharing my home? And hey, Country Living magazine isn’t exactly standing in my doorway trying to get in. But you are here! So let me show you around.
This is what you see as you step inside my home. I love lots of old world sparkle, and I stuffed it in every corner that I could this year. Do you see that brown chair at the foot of the stairs? Guess what?! It was featured last year in my Keeping it real Tour. I promised myself I would reupholster it before Christmas 2014. As you can see, not done. For 2015, I am definitely checking out Online Fabric Store for some great choices for fabric for that chair.
This is my entry table I stripped and stained some time ago. You can read about that HERE. I do love opening my front door and being greeted by the festive garland. I haven’t figured out what to do with those garland tails and string of lights that stretch over to the outlet. So they all just hang out awkwardly together.
There are my stairs!!! That only took me a year to complete. Well, almost a full year. The top landing spindles are still not completed, but you can’t see them from downstairs. So they may not be completed until well into 2015. You can check out how I painted my stairs with 100% natural CeCe Caldwell’s paints in THIS POST. Yep, they are still holding up beautifully despite three kids, a husband, a dog. And me. I would love to fill up that wall going up the stairs with beautifully framed family photos. Maybe by 2017. I like to be a realist with my goals.
I have lived in my home for over 10 years now. I didn’t actually buy ANY living room furniture (well, I still didn’t buy half of it, it was found in or around a Dumpster….) But I didn’t have a cohesive lay out until last November. Now it is one of my favorite places in my home to hang out. That chair in the back ground was just one of many of my fabulous Dumpster Treasures. That lamp with the Hydrangeas? That is one of my favorite items. You can turn the lamp on to just light the flowers, or just the top or both. Depending on how much time I feel like fiddling with mood lighting in this room. That Ottoman was a lovely Dumpster Dive treasure too.
My friend who helped me FINALLY figure out how to put my Dining Room/Living room giant room together made a bunch of these beautiful Christmas Scene Decorative treasures. I got the best one by far with the Eiffel Tower.
And of course, the tree!! Check out the middle of it! That particular string of lights burned out and I didn’t bother to replace them for the picture. Actually, while I sit here typing. They are still dark, any may stay that way. It is just my way of making you feel comfortable around here. Things are not perfect, so go ahead and track some mud in. I am all cool with it.
Check out my lovely lady lamp. Well, she isn’t quite a lamp, but she could be if I wanted her to be. I bought this from a friend some time ago. And, that is not real marble. She painted it to look that way with CeCe Caldwell’s Vintage White and 100% natural glaze tinted with Seattle Mist. Amazing right? She is sporting a handmade ornament I made a few years ago. I think it looks quite festive in her stone hair.
My mom gave my sibling and I this sweet, soft nativity set years ago. Despite my kids best efforts to dismantle it, it has survived, and so have all the parts!
Whoops, I have light spillage here under my Dumpster Found Mid Century Credenza too. It definitely needs to be refinished. I am going to use the new 100% Natural CeCe Stains + Finish. They are SO easy to use, post coming soon on that too. Why not share it and give it an important role in holding my Christmas Decor! After I put away my Christmas Decor, my credenza will be looking pretty bare. I am definitely shopping at Farmhouse Decor Shop for some GORGEOUS items to snazzy up my Free Furniture.
Let’s move on to the rest of the house. (I mean the downstairs). The upstairs is not being shown in this post because the only thing worth noting is my Master Bathroom Makeover. And has no Christmas Decor…. I love my Pot rack, and you can never have enough chalk boards. Hey, those pots could really use polishing, but I use them almost every day. And do you know how much work it is to keep up with polishing copper pots???
Nope, that is not my Children’s Science project you are looking at on the windowsill. That is my annual tradition of growing PaperWhite bulbs in teeny containers. They will grow in just about anything. Even rocks!
I am digging the Discoesque LED lights I have strung across my curtains. And yep. We celebrate Chanukah here too for my Jewish Heritage husband. We don’t like to be left out of any fun holidays, so we pack in as much as we can.
It’s pretty cozy over by the fire. One of the loops on my kid’s stocking broke apart last year. I didn’t fix it. Not sure if I will. It seems to be holding well with just the knot tied in it.
I love my old School Green Chalkboard hanging above my fireplace. It is actually a print that hung above my parent’s bed when I was growing up. It was a lovely 80’s mauve florally thing on the print. I mixed up some CeCe Caldwell’s greens and transformed it to a chalkboard. More details on this coming soon.
Remember I mentioned Chanukah? We have a permanent spot over at my game table area for a Dreidel spinning contest. They are hanging out on my favorite Vintage Pepsi Tray. The record is about 60 seconds, held by one of my kid’s friends.
That pretty much sums it up. Thanks for stopping by. Since I am a procrastinator, time to usher you to the door now. I have Christmas Cards to address and send out. I only have half my presents wrapped. And I really would like to just sit on the couch and gaze at my half lit tree.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years, and in my house, we also say Happy Chanukah! Please go check out my friends at all their gorgeous homes in the Procrastinator tour!
Please go check out all my Proscratinator friends on this fun Holiday Tour! We saved the best for last!

Thank you Darielle! Hope you are having a beautiful Holiday Season. Thanks for coming over for a bit.
I love the real-ness of your home. That’s how mine is, too!
Thanks Terri! I like keeping it real. That way no one has to feel like they can’t wear their work out clothes, sweats, or old shoes to come over here.
The festive touch too cute and simple

Happy Hanukkah/Christmastime to you all my little pixie friend!!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you my beautiful friend!

manchmal den vorgeschobenen Effekt des Abdriftens in eine virtuelle Realität}
aufhalten. Man wird wohl auch einigen wenigen Freaks begegnen, jedoch findet der Gamer häufig in seinem Favoriten Gleichgesinnte.
Alles in allem: daddeln ist genial! Daddeln ist Kunst.
Thank you for your super real Christmas tour! It was a ton of fun and very real! It’s just like mine. 😀
Merry Christmas!
Robin

I’m loving this Holiday Home Tour. Like to see how others decorate. Makes me feel right at home
First of all, I love your personality and your spirit!!! Secondly, I will tell you, Like Confessions of an ADD Mom, I love you right now because lights are out on my tree too and they will probably stay that way lol. I have to say, I love your entry way with the mirror – love the garland and lights how they sparkle and reflect off of it. I also love that you repurposing so many things and have so many stories about how you acquired your items. Thank you for inviting us into your home, and thank you so much for the giveaway 🙂 I will be subscribing to your blog!! I am very interested in seeing more of what you do and your adventures 🙂
Sherry your comment just made my whole week! Thank you so much. It is nice to feel like there are other people who can be O.K. with not everything looking perfect! And yep, the lights are definitely not lit. I have better things to do than untangle that one string. Oh well. Truthfully, I don’t think anyone else in my family noticed….. Hope you have a wonderful holiday. See you around here.
love your decor! its not overdone and is perfect and classic! love the colored lights over the window too. i wish my house looked so cheerful!
Thank you so much Amanda. Sometimes I think it is a bit of a circus around here, but we love all the color.
Your house looks beautiful–like a really fun place to hang for the holidays! Enjoy!
Thank you so much Cynthia! We like it casual and pretty around here!
Simply gorgeous! You have a delightful home! I love the mini Eiffel tower in the vase. I actually have a paper one that says “WISH” on it that was a Christmas ornament from a few years ago. I keep it out year round because it inspires me! Merry Christmas!
You have sooo many delightful touches in your home for Christmas! I love how you have garland and strings of lights splashed everywhere. I didn’t even notice the extra string of lights on the floor to the outlet till you mentioned it. I think it adds to the decor!
I love your home. It’s all so beautiful. Non-Christmas wise, I love LOVE your sink
You have a beautiful home – I love all the aspects of it.
